I'm trying to write a post about Iran & the Nuclear Agency. I just don’t understand why Iran's government doesn't cooperate. I really don’t think we want to be next Iraq. Bush & his teamed made up the story & attacked Iraq & look what's happening there everyday.
By the way, most Iranians like John Kerry to win the election! It is rather strange but over the past few weeks most small talks I have heard was either about the Agency or Bush-Kerry competition to win the election. Most people thinks Bush will win but they admit they like Kerry more. I really don’t see the reason behind; cos I remember clearly Kerry said that Iran has been more dangerous than Iraq or Afghanistan. But maybe it's because it is believed that he is not going to attack Iran while it's a generally accepted fact here that sooner or later Bush will confront Iran if he is elected. However, we are not the ones who has to decide about the election. Americans are to elect their president not us.

John Kerry has NO plans to attack Iran. He was pointing out to Bush that there was no reason to attack Iraq because Iraq was not a threat to our national security. He was saying that Iran and N. Korea were *more* dangerous. He was saying that, not because he thinks we should attack Iran or N. Korea but to point out that we should NOT have attacked Iraq. Kerry probably does have plans to work with the UN to disarm Iran though.

I have to admit that I don't like the idea of Iran having nuclear weapons but I also don't like the idea of the United States having nuclear weapons. Still, considering the recent events in Iraq, I think I can understand why Iran might want to have them. They are a powerful deterant. I will urge my government to disarm if you urge yours to do the same. I don't think either one of us will be successful but there is nothing wrong with two women being voices for peace is there?

Bush made a comment at the recent debate that makes me think that even he does not have plans to attack Iran. He said that we need to have a free Iraq to be an example for Iranians to change from within. I guess he expects all you Iranians to sit over there and look at Iraq and think "we want to be just like them" It would be funny if it weren't so tagic. Another thing that might make you feel better is that our military is very overextended. I don't think the US could attack Iran even if we wanted to. And lastly, the Iraq war is becoming increasingly unpopular. I can't imagine that the American people (except for the most aggresive ones) would support another invasion.

I will be voting for John Kerry in this election. I hope most of my fellow countrymen do the same.

I agree with all of Lynne's comments.

I think that Bush attacked Iraq because he knew that Iraq was weak and had no real military power to fight back. I also think that he will not attack N Korea or Iran because he knows that they each have the capability of fighting back. I really thgink that it is important, right now, that Iran at least appears to be strong, militarily. A show of weakness or fear would invite an attack by one such as Bush or Sharon.

Lynne is correct in saying that Kerry does not want to invade Iran. In fact, I don't think that most Americans want to invade Iran, or any other country right now. Unfortunately, Kerry doesn't always make himself clearly understood. He sometimes explains things so precisely, like a university professor, that ordinary people don't understand what he is saying. I think that most people in the world, outside of the USA, would like to see Kerry elected. In Canada millions of people, including me, are descendants of American immigrants and have many close relatives in the USA. Even with such close ties to the USA most Canadians are afraid that Bush is the greatest threat to world peace.

I hope and pray that intelligent women like you and Lynne will be joined by billions around the world in demanding an end to war and violence.

All of my cousins in Idaho, Washington state and Oregon are going to vote for Kerry. I have other relatives in California who will vote for Bush, but Kerry will win in California anyway. I hope that Kerry does better in the next debate. He had Bush on the ropes in the first debate but he didn't deliver the knockout punch.
