Are Moslems terrorists?

We had been discussing the issue lately with some of my Christian friends. & it absolutely amazed me how wrong the world interpret some basic rules of Islam. & self-acclaimed Moslems do help that idea! They threaten & terrorize the mass who had nothing to harm them.
Islam basically says if anyone attacked you, you must fight against them, either that or if you’re threatened. There is no such rule as to attack street done to Islam? innocent people! What harm had people in the
The point is that most of these self-acclaimed Moslems firmly believe that west government had done a lot of harm trying to isolate Moslems. Yet I don’t see why they punish innocent civilians instead of the powerful government ruling their lives!
Where is the mercy Islam order for us to practice? Islam says love your neighbors! & we believe in all the prophets who had been before Muhammad & we believe in all the religions before Islam. Why would we want to hurt others? We’re not terrorists! Believe me… it’s the hardliners who never understand Islam. I’m sorry for all the hurt they brought the world.

Hi Proshat- I really enjoy reading your blog and hearing about your opinions, thoughts, and day-to-day life. Despite what many would like us all to believe, and despite the distance, borders, language, religions, etc., we're not that different after all. Thanks for speaking out: most of us want peace and a greater effort by our governments to coexist more harmoniously!
All the best to you!

You know Proshat, there are Christians in this country who give Christianity a bad name. People who are just as bad and who use terrorist tactics against others. You might not hear too much of them because their bombings are usually of abortion clinics here in the US but as far as I am concerned they are cut from the same cloth as those who bombed London last week.

I think that most people in the world would agree with you Proshat. I don't really like the word "terrorist" because it can be used to desribe anyone today. The fact is that the most dangerous terrorists in the world today are the leaders of national governments.

I most certainly condemn any person who willfully and deliberately hurts or kills another human being. These people must be resisted but it is never right to use evil methods in order to resist evil people.

It's easy for people to call themselves a Christian, or a Muslim, or a Hindu, etc. but that doesn't make them one. I could call myself an eagle but I still wouldn't be able to fly. There are lots of murderers in the world today, and they are all evil people. Some of them set of bombs and kill a few innocent people on the street. Others send their armies into other countries and kill thousands of innocent people In the U.S. and Canada abortionists have killed nearly fifty million innocent unborn babies during the past 25 years.

Lynne is right in saying that they are all cut from the same cloth. But of course we can't agree on just who are cut from that cloth. I say that Bush, Blair, Putin, and a host of national leaders and dictators around the world are terrorists. I say that abortionists are terrorists and so are people who kill abortionists. I say that anyone who plants a bomb or a land mine is a terrorist. They should all be caught and locked up for the rest of their natural lives. But of course some terrorists have the protection of the law, while others who are no worse are hunted by the law.

There is a Natural Law of God which has been stated as " do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
Until heads of state begin obeying God's Natural Law I fear that it is futile to expect desperate individuals to obey it.

It's true. There are people of every religion who twist their religion into untrue (to that religion) extremism and fanatacism. They re-interpret religious writings into justification of their own crazy ideas. Here in the USA we've had a guy named David Koresh who went crazy with his own interpretation of Christianity and brainwashed people into following him and his beliefs, and he built a fortress where he convinced adults to live and bring their kids (and he, himself, fathered many of the kids) to live in his fortress and eventually went into battle against US police who just wanted to get the kids out and etc. Most of them died in gunfire and when their compound burned. And in 1978, of course, there was Jim Jones who convinced people to follow him and his twisted thoughts.. and they all committed suicide by poison. Yes, anytime there is a religion, philosophy or what-have-you, there will be people who twist it into bizarre interpretations.

(By the way, *I* took that photo of s. lynne fremont!)
